5 Tips In Preparing For Balikbayan Guests
Let your guests feel at home with these simple ways
It's that time of the year again when people start preparing for the holidays. It is a season of shopping for Christmas gifts, decorating your homes, and for some, it is a time to welcome relatives and friends from abroad who are visiting for the season. Make your guests feel comfortable in your own home with these tips:
1. Provide a comfortable sleeping area for your guests.
If you don’t have a guest room, ask your family members if your guests can stay in their bedrooms for the time being. Your kids may share a room while your guests are staying with you. Make the room comfortable by dressing up the bed with fresh linen.
2. Put a refreshing room scent in your guests’ room.
Help your guests relax by making their room fragrant. Lavender scent can help induce sleep, so you can use it to help your guests have a good rest (and beat jet lag!).
3. Label storage spots.
Put labels on the drawers and cabinets in your guests’ room, so they can easily find what they need, like extra blankets or towels.
4. Make sure the bathroom is clean.
A dirty bathroom won’t leave a good impression on your guests. Make sure this area is clean, looks fresh, and has complete toiletries.
5. Tell them where dinnerware and utensils in the kitchen are kept.
Let your guests feel at home. Inform them where they can get snacks and dining utensils in case they go hungry.
