5 Tips For Hosting A Party In A Small Space

Do you love having family and friends over but you're feeling anxious about throwing a shindig in a tiny home? Don't let living in a studio apartment stop you from having an unforgettable night with the people you love. Follow these smart tips to help you pull off the perfect get-together:

1. Get creative with seating.

Not enough seating in your dining area? No problem! Try moving your table near your sofa to create more room for guests to sit on. If you have a compact couch, consider pulling in chairs from different parts of the home for a mismatched look instead.

2. Lay out your dinner spread away from the dining area.

If you have limited room on your dining table, consider putting up your buffet on the coffee table in your living area or the console table behind your sofa. You can also try separating the appetizers from the main courses to avoid overcrowding one nook.

3. Keep the decorations simple.

Having an abundance of banners and balloons in a small space can make a room feel cramped. Remember, less is more—consider going for simple centerpieces or patterened dishes for a cleaner aesthetic.

4. Set up a mobile bar.

At house parties, people are always gathering around the makeshift bar to snag a glass of wine. Try putting up several trays with drinks around your space to avoid bottleneck situations.

5.  Go for mood lighting to achieve cozy ambience.

It's no secret that almost anything is improved with good lighting. Instead of using overhead lights, consider going for yellow-light lamps and candles instead.
