5 Things You Can Transform With A Gallon Of Paint

There isn’t much to a gallon or (roughly) 3 liters of anything—if it was gas, you could only drive for around 12 kilometers or if it was water, you’d be able to use it up in half a day. However, when it comes to paint, it can take you very far especially if you’re planning to spruce up your home. If, like us, you have a passion for transforming well-loved items into new pieces, here are a few paint-related projects you can work on:

An old piece of furniture

If you have a console table or a wooden bench that looks a little lackluster but still functional, give it an updated look with a fresh coat of paint. Go with pastel colors for a shabby chic vibe or a stone gray for something more classic.

Bookshelves

Is your bookcase worn out from years of use and abuse? Give it new life using white paint a la IKEA. Make sure to sand down the wood first for a smooth end product.

Staircase risers

128 ounces of paint might not be sufficient to cover your entire staircase but it's enough to spruce up the risers. Feel free to use light colors for a timeless look or neon shades for an eye-catching display.

RL Tip: If you have a lot of leftover paint in different colors, you can go for a rainbow-inspired flight of steps (as seen in photo).

The front door

Giving your front door a makeover is an easy, budget-friendly way to improve the impression your home makes to people. Give guests (and yourself!) a warm welcome to your house with a cheerful and bright passageway.

Kitchen cabinets

Kitchen cabinets experience a lot of wear and tear from constant use. If you have paint to spare, show them a little love by dressing it up in a brand new color. Remember, darker tints can conceal dirt and grease stains well.
