5 Things to Love at this Year's MaArte Fair
Don't leave without getting one!
Handmade with love and proudly Filipino—these are just some of the words that describe what you will see at this year's MaArte Fair. This exhibition of local goods was born to give artisans a venue to showcase and sell their products, and in the past years, the event has been successful. Expect to find a wide array of products this year—from homeware and decor to food from local producers and other accessories. Here are some of them:
Joy clutch with agung
Going to a party? Complement your dress with this beautifully crafted clutch from Gifts & Graces. It is made by women in Binan, Laguna and Sakada farmers in Negros Occidental using excess cotton fibers. The die-cast, brass accents add a bit of elegance.
Green Babes' salted eggs
Your fish-and-tomatoes ulam wouldn't be complete without salted eggs! And the best part about Green Babes' products? Everything is organic, so you'll surely have a delicious, MSG- and preservative-free meal.
Happy Star Child's handpainted lamp
Add a touch of whimsy to a space with this lamp that bears a unique, handpainted illustration. This will surely be a conversation starter whenever friends visit your home. These lamps are also available at Lokal Home+Art+Fashion along Lilac Street in Marikina. Check out Happy Star Child's Facebook page for more information.
Make a fashion statement when you wear this necklace. Silnag, which means "rays of the sun" in Ilokano, makes women's fashion jewelry using by-products of food and farm trade like horns, shells, bones, and scrap wood. Silnag also exports jewelry abroad, and wearing one of its pieces simply spells Pinoy pride.
Pastry Armoire's Salted Caramel Sticky Bun
Got a sweet tooth? Head to Pastry Armoire's booth and feast on their sweet treats. Salted caramel is just one of the sticky bun flavors that Pastry Armoire came up with this year. Don't miss the Strawberry, Mocha Chocolate Chip, and Milo Dinosaur flavors, too!
MaArte Fair will run from August 26 to 28, 2016 at the penthouse of 8 Rockwell, Rockwell Drive, Makati City. Visit the MaArte Fair Facebook page for more details and updates.
