There are days when you feel like going on an adventure yet the mere thought of planning the whole thing seem so tiring. Imagine finalizing itineraries, booking tickets, and going from point A to point B—you can't help but ask yourself if the trip will indeed take the stress away.

If you're looking for a new place to explore—without the hassle of delayed flights and long lines, Antipolo is the answer. There's more to this city than just its popular church. It has a growing number of interesting yet laidback artistic and design hubs, cafes, resorts, and eco parks, making it ideal for a fun day trip with friends and family.

Whether you're visiting for the first time or accompanying friends who haven't been to the quaint city yet, here are five things that you shouldn't miss:

Light a candle and say a prayer at the Antipolo Cathedral

Also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady Of Peace and Good Voyage, the church draws the religious crown year in and year out especially during Holy Week. Many Filipinos who are about to leave the country also visit the church to ask for guidance and pray for a safe journey. Make it your first stop and attend the Mass.

Visit Pinto Art Museum

Standing on a hectare-wide property called Silangan Gardens, Pinto showcases a magnificent display of various forms of contemporary art. It houses the personal art and antique collection of its owner, Dr. Joven Cuanang. To keep things cozy and inviting, some of the artworks are displayed in a bedroom setup and in the library.

Not your usual coffee shop, the cafe perfectly combines modern and rustic touches that make the place ideal if you want to chill and take a break after hours of exploring the city. Aside from coffee, you can also try the different soups, pastas, sandwiches, and of course, the ideal coffee partner—cake!

Drop by Crescent Moon Cafe

Before it became a restaurant, the compound where Crescent Moon Cafe is located served as owner Lanelle Abueva-Fernando’s pottery studio. Lush greenery surrounds the place and serves as a relaxing backdrop as you enjoy your food. Aside from admiring the view after your meal, make sure you check out the corner that holds Lanelle's ceramic creations—you might find something for the home!
