How are you spending your extra day? While holding movie marathons and sleeping in are your top priorities, it might be smart to find a window in your schedule to tidy your home—even if it is just a tiny nook. To give you an idea, here are some things you can start with:

1. Junk Drawer

Whether we admit it or not, we all have one in our homes that are filled with the most random items. Try to see if there are still things that you need lurking in there or if it is time to finally empty it out.

2. Cupboard

Did you know that even dry and canned goods can go bad? Take the time to take out everything from your pantry and throw out anything that might be unsafe. Make sure to declutter expired items, donate items you no longer need and stock up on your essentials.

3. Bookshelves

If we’re being honest, almost everyone owns books they’ll never read. It’s time to share these gifts to other bookworms by donating them. Let your library breathe by getting rid of some of the titles you’ve collected over the years.

4. Study or work desk

It’s safe to say we're more productive when working on a clear space. To achieve that, go through all your drawers and folders—you never know, it might be time to get rid of all the outdated papers and old handouts!

5. Makeup drawer

No matter how much you love a product, chances are, constant use can cause them to expire quicker. Weed out any makeup products that might have already gone bad to avoid skin irritation and allergies.
