We all know that storage is crucial especially in a small home, that’s why we always think of ingenious ways to come up with storage solutions. Aside from multipurpose furniture and modular cabinets, here are other ideas and tricks that you can use in your compact abode:

1. Build floor-to-ceiling shelves.

Blessed with a high ceiling? You can allot one wall for a huge shelving system, especially if you have a lot of books that you can’t bear to part with. A matching ladder would be great, too, so you can reach the higher tiers.

2. Make uniform storage boxes.

No cabinet? No problem. In this condo unit, the homeowner stored her shoes in similar shoe boxes. This keeps the room from looking cluttered even if the boxes aren’t hidden in a cabinet.

3. Make your cabinets blend in.

Your cabinets don’t have to look like cabinets. In hairstylist Bambi Navarro’s condo unit, he used French-style sliding doors for his closet. These doors conceal the clothes while blending into the overall design of the room.

4. Mount small knickknacks on a wall.

If you work at home, keep your desk from being taken over by various pens and supplies by mounting them on a metal wall. A juicy hue is welcome, too, to liven up the space.

5. Add storage anywhere.

No corner is too small for it not to accommodate additional storage space. In this workstation, even the tightest of corners was turned into slim shelves that house the owner’s books and files.
