Even if you only have a corner of the home for a living area, you can leave a lasting impression on your guests by making it warm and cozy. Use a lot of wooden elements for a cabin-inspired vibe and keep the seating comfy with throws or extra pillows.

For those who are living in a compact condo unit, it follows that you don't have a lot of vertical space. If you're set on putting up a gallery wall, consider a wire mesh grid found in most hardware stores to display photos instead. It makes a great canvas for an interesting vignette of retro knickknacks, too!

RL Tip: Can't find a wire mesh grid that you like? Seek the help of your neighborhood handyman to help you weld and put together a custom-made piece instead!

Most small homes have mixed-use spaces to maximize the limited area! Combine your dining area with your study by setting up a small nook at the end of the table for your office supplies. You can even organize your essentials in a decorative tray to help you move everything easily during meals.

While floating shelves always come in handy for tiny homes, you can save a few more inches of space with built-in cubes. Consider carving out small cubbyholes on your walls where you can display your travel souvenirs or a few of your favorite reads.

The best design hack for small spaces? Make use of every nook and cranny. Avoid wasting an empty corner by setting-up a seating area (which can also double as a reading nook!) using a simple bench, pillows and a wall lamp.
