5 Signs You Need To Move Out Of Your Rental Home

No matter how happy and contented you are in the rental home that you have now, there will come a time when you'll start to think about moving to a finer and more comfortable space. Whether that day is in the near future or half a decade from now, you need to make sure the timing is right and that you're doing it for valid reasons. From financial factors to different social situations, we've listed down a few telltale signs that it's time to go searching for a new place. Check them out below: 

1. You've outgrown your place. 

There is no one reason to outgrowing a home—it could be because you found a new job and it is no longer accessible from your current rental, you've accumulated stuff and need more space for storage, or simply because your taste has changed. 

2. You can no longer afford your rent.

Over time, renting rates increase as the zonal value of the home increases—usually because of the developments surrounding the building or apartment. If your monthly rent no longer meets your budget, it's time to look for a new place. 

3. Your landlord isn't responsive to your needs.

It is the responsibility of the landlord to take care of everything you need as a tenant. This includes maintenance tasks, tenancy agreements and coordinating with the building management among others. If he or she isn't taking these tasks seriously, you're better off looking for a more dedicated owner. 

4. Your neighborhood is no longer safe. 

Even if you like your apartment or condo unit, if the area has become more susceptible to crime recently or it has become polluted with partygoers because of the commercial establishments—the decision to look for a new apartment is yours.

5. You've decided to adopt a furry friend. 

If you're committed to taking care of a pet, it's best to find a pet-friendly environment for them. A lot of condo developments don't allow dogs and cats in the building and going behind the back of the management can lead to tenancy trouble or worse, eviction.
