Create a space that would let you dream of the sun, the sand, and the waves

Summer is still a couple of months away and yet many of us are already busy making plans, booking trips, and finalizing itineraries.

If you're in love with Summer and would want to feel the sunny vibe all-year long, you might want to turn your bedroom into your own personal beach-inspired getaway. No need for a fancy room redo as you can add a few touches of color and change your furnishings. Let these photos inspire you:

Choose furnishings in refreshing colors like light blue, aqua, and seafoam. Achieve balance by pairing the colorful curtains and sheets with neutral-colored walls and sheets.

You can also paint some of the pieces in beach-inspired colors.

Style and decorate your side table with one to three sea-inspired pieces such as shells and a few blue scented candles. You can also fill a clear glass jar with mini shells and clean tree branches.

Aside from opting for a huge artwork that can take up the space above your bed, you can also create a special gallery wall of framed beach-inspired photos. Print out photos of starfishes, shells, seahorses, and the like (you can source free photos from the Internet). Choose similar frames and line them up on a wall.

If you're not too keen on painting walls and changing curtains, you can start transforming your bedroom by simply adding a sea-inspired area rug. Use it to anchor your room or simply place it by your door.

An unused corner in your bedroom can be transformed into a stylish vignette where you can display your favorite decor pieces and other items. If you have an old table, you can have it repainted in a light blue hue. Spruce it up by displaying elements that inspire you of sea voyages and your favorite destination.

Complete the setup with framed photos of you and your loved ones taken during your last beach trip!
