5 Pretty Loft Beds You'd Love To Have At Home

Maximize space and style with these ideas

Aside from bulky couches, a piece of furniture that takes up the most floor space is a four-poster—more so if you are renting a small apartment. If you are going through the same dilemma of trying to style around a queen-sized mattress, there is good news: you can free up a lot of room for other activities by deciding to go for a lofted bed instead. To help you out, here are some nifty raised cot ideas you can experiment with:

Does your flat have no closet in sight? Turn the underside of your bed into a makeshift dressing area! You can use the extra floor space to add a rack for clothes and storage bins for shoes. You can even include a small vanity where you can spend time doing your makeup in the morning.

Whether you enjoy entertaining guests or spending the weekends reading, you can benefit from a seating nook positioned right below your sleeping space. Make sure to add a couple of indoor plants to give it an extra relaxing vibe!

Who says lofted beds are just for kids? Instead of a play area, you can squeeze in a home office into your bedroom instead. Bonus: once you're tired from working, you can easily climb up the steps for a nap.

For those who need to share space, but aren't a big fan of bunk beds, you can turn the space underneath into a tiny boudouir of sorts. You can hang huge scarves or kilims around it for extra privacy, too.

If you're styling a space for toddlers, you can make the most of the extra space by turning it into a play area or a toy storage system. You can take it to the next level by building a unit complete with details of a life-size dollhouse (as seen in photo).
