Now that your kids are back in school, we're sure that you've already prepared a bright and organized study area for them. However, if your kids are still a few years shy of big school, there's still a lot that you can do to maximize the available space at home.

If you have a spare room or empty corner in the bedroom, you can create a playroom for the little ones. You can also use the same space to store your kids' toys, books, and other must-haves. Let these five ideas inspire you.

Have a chalkboard or white board ready

One of the challenges of having young ones at home is the probability of having color marks and crayon markings on the walls and floors. While you can always remove these stains on your own, it's still best to encourage their creativity by having a board where they can doodle, draw, and write.

You may transform a side of the cabinet into a special board or install a board on one wall with the help of a carpenter. Click here to learn more.

Go for cool colors

Tone down the quirkiness of your child’s room by painting the walls in cool shades like blue or green. These shades add a calming vibe to the space as well.

Opt for custom-made shelves

You can add customized and color-coded shelves so your kids will know where to return their books and toys. If you are thinking of displaying photos and decor in the space, opt for wall-mounted shelves.

Create an airy space

Avoid putting huge furniture pieces that can make the room feel cramped. We're sure your kids would love mini desks and tables where they can play, color, and draw. Turn a corner of the room into a special lounge area for the adults. You may add floor pillows and an area rug.

Choose multipurpose furniture

Pick patterns and colors that are both adult and child-friendly to create a flexible space. For starters, you may work with graphic print pillows and pastel accessories to create a balanced look.
