For most people, Christmas is a time to cover their houses in lights and decorations from the floor to the ceiling—some even as early as September. However, there are a select few who prefer to keep it sweet and simple. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, it requires an easier clean-up, too. If you don't feel like rummaging through boxes in storage, here are ideas that do not require putting up a tree:

If you don't want to bother with hanging up decor on the walls, try setting up a tray with all your favorite Christmas-themed items on it. Play around with pine cones, candy canes, ornaments, and candles for a balanced mix.

RL Tip: This can serve as a beautiful centerpiece, too! Place it in the middle of your holiday buffet for a special touch.

A little typography never hurts! Express your excitement for the holiday season with a printed piece that will catch everyone's attention.

Contrary to popular belief, Christmas socks don't always have to be red. Keep within your chosen aesthetic and use neutral ones—but make sure to stuff your stockings to maintain the fun!

Sometimes, less is more. Dress up a small side table with a simple wreath for a clean and crisp display. You can also add a garland of Christmas greetings or the names of your family members to achieve a personalized touch.

With the right pieces, a small vignette on a hanging shelf can replace a six-foot-tall tree. Light up tree-shaped candles instead to combine light and a festive vibe in one spot.

RL Tip: John Lewis has a lot options you can choose from!
