We only have one week to make the most of 2015 and we’re sure that you’re also busy decluttering and prepping the home for 2016. While it can be exhausting, things can be easier with a list of must-dos and items to let go of. Get down to business and keep these helpful tips in mind:

Let go

To make it less stressful, you can do this task per area. Start with your bedroom and empty out your cabinets and drawers. “Get rid of accumulated stuff that are taking up precious spaces in your home. Decide what will stay and go for the coming New Year,” shares interior designer Anla Li-Tan.

Clean up

“Before the year ends, allot a day to do a thorough spring cleaning to welcome 2016. Clean one area at a time to avoid missing a spot. You may also opt to hire professional cleaners to do a meticulous cleaning for you,” the designer suggests.

Finish all projects

You don’t want to welcome the New Year with unfinished projects and a home filled with unused building materials! “Before writing down your new list of goals for 2016, be obligated to finish half-done home improvements you started this year. It can be a forgotten task of changing your curtains to match your newly-bought sofa or re-arranging your decors. Tackle these unfinished projects one by one, and make these your pre-New Year’s resolution,” Anla explains.

Say goodbye to ants and cockroaches
