There are many reasons to love a bright and colorful home! It could help you kickstart an ordinary day and cheer you up at the end of a bad one. More importantly, vibrant hues can turn an ordinary space into a welcoming place for your family and friends.

However, before you go out and buy paint and furniture in hot pink, neon green, and electric blue, you should check out this two-bedroom condo designed by interior designer Hannah Acab-Faustino! Here are five tips and tricks inspired by this 190sqm unit:

Create a blank slate

You can start with white walls and neutral-hued furniture pieces in white, beige, and taupe. A blank slate would allow the playful shades to stand out and it would also be so much easier for you to maintain and update.

Choose a textured finish

If you think white walls can be too boring and predictable, you should consider putting up a brick wall! A white brick wall still looks clean, but it is so much more interesting.

RL Tip: You don't have to tear down your old walls! You can put up brick-print wallpaper or you can make a faux brick wall. Click here for a detailed step-by-step guide.

Bring in colorful finds

You can start introducing color with accent pieces and soft furnishings. For example, you can opt for a green plastic chair, a printed area rug, and a few throw pillows.

Choose interesting details

More than bright and colorful pieces, you can also pick unexpected features that will make your home look out of the ordinary.

In this case, the interior designer chose unique wrought iron lighting fixtures, storage cabinets, and bar stools. She also opted for unexpected glass doors that the homeowners can write on.

Play with prints

Now that we have established that it's not all about color, you can begin experimenting with different types of patterns! Pick geometric prints in similar shades for a cohesive and streamlined feel.
