How can you create a relaxing sanctuary in the heart of the city? Interior designer Kristine Neri-Magturo turned a bare two-bedroom condo into a tranquil escape by retaining the large windows, creating an open layout for the shared spaces, and choosing soothing colors.

If you love the look and feel of this 76sqm unit as much as we do, you may want to try these interesting tips inspired by this home:

Start with a wall-mounted mirror

We know you've read this before, but there is a reason why this tip continues to be one of our favorites! Placing a mirror on one of your walls will make any space appear larger than it really is. Since the mirror also reflects the light, it can also make the place seem bright and beautiful.

RL Tip: Instead of putting up a mirror panel, you can also hang up a wall mirror! You can paint the frame white for a seamless look.

Create an open space

If you are still building or renovating your home, you may want to avoid putting up any walls between the living, kitchen, and dining areas! An open shared space will always look airy and spacious.

Choose the right colors

However, if you have no plans of building or renovating anytime soon, you can start with your walls, furniture and decor!

Pair white walls with furniture in white, gray, blue, and beige. To fit your new color scheme, you can repaint some of your old tables and chairs.

Create accent wall

Aside from painting your walls white, you can also define one wall in every room. You can put up wallpaper or make a pattern using wall stickers.

Opt for splashes of color

Complement white, gray, blue, and beige building materials, furniture, and decor with unexpected pops of color.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can paint stripes on your wall. You can simply buy a neon-colored accent chair or place flowers in a glass vase.
