Dusting furniture and accessories isn't as simple as we thought it would be—sometimes, we think we've already cleaned something but it isn't really spotless. To help you achieve a more efficient routine for wiping grime off, we've listed down a few hacks you can try on your next deep cleaning session:

  • Coffee filters can do more than make a good cup of joe—they can keep your window screens dust-free, too. These filters are usually static-free so it won’t do any damage to your awnings.
  • Lamp shades can be challenging to dust because of its irregular shape but a lint roller can make the task super easy! The best part? It can also pick up other types of dirt such as crumbs or debris.

  • If there are nooks and crannies that are hard to reach, try using a soft toothbrush to clean it. If that doesn’t work, a thin or natural-bristle paint brush works, too.
  • If you've got paintings that are looking a little lackluster but you're afraid to cause damage, use old white bread to gently dab the dust off from it. Be very careful when doing this to avoid any dents.
  • To dust the corners of ceilings, try securing a microfiber cloth with a rubber band to the bristles and dust away. This also works very well for removing cobwebs.
