However, with the right styling tricks, vibrant accessories and a little sunlight, monochromatic rooms can look cozy, too. Get inspired by these ideas: 


For those who are experimenting with dark colors for the first time, try using it in rooms with a lot of natural light to keep it from looking too drastic. White furniture pieces also help balance everything out. 


Even with the used of moody hues, an open layout can extend the space and make it look even bigger. Incorporate a lot of wooden elements for a modern farmhouse vibe.  

This look works even for the T&B! All you need to do is make sure that there is one element that stands out from the rest to avoid a tight and cramped feel. A light-colored vanity countertop does the trick. 

No windows? No problem. You can trick the eyes by adding a vibrant piece that can brighten up the room. Consider pastels in furniture or accessories for an eye-catching contrast. 


If you're set on not using any color at all, consider hints of gray for a layered look. It will give the room more depth and keep it from looking like a big black swatch.
