5 Beautiful Bathroom Accessories You Can Find Around Your Home

Look to the rest of your house for out-of-the-ordinary loo decor

Blur the lines and defy convention—outfit your bathroom with multitasking accents borrowed from other rooms in your home, like the kitchen or living room. You'll get a loo that's both funky and functional. Try these tricks:

1. Get all bottled up.

Bath gels, foams, and oils can look as pretty as they smell when transferred into amber glass bottles and decanters. Find similar products at Domesticity

RL Tip: Products you'll most likely handle with wet hands (such as shampoo and conditioners) are best left in their original plastic containers.

2. Play catch.

Small bowls, dishes, and mugs make for easy-access catchalls for frequently used items. Clips, floss, balms, and creams can make themselves at home in sauce dishes. Mugs and mason jars can hold brushes, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

3. Have a jarring experience.

Use glass cookie jars and covered candy dishes as containers for soaps, cotton balls, cotton buds, and sample-sized toiletries. You'll know what's inside each jar and your stuff stays dust-free.

4. Do a cruet de ville.

You don't have to deal with oversized, unwieldy bottles of mouthwash on a daily basis—transfer smaller quantities into pretty glass oil and vinegar cruets or dispensers. SM Home offers a wide variety of vinegar and oil cruets you can choose from.

5. Make fruit punch.

Use artifical fruit or fruit-shaped knickknacks as ring holders. They sure look cute on a dining table, but park one of these sink-side to keep your baubles from going down the drain. Their systems can hold your rings when you wash your hands. Find similar items at H&M Home, your local thrift store (try Japan surplus shops) or order them online via Etsy
