5 Beach-Inspired Decorating Ideas You'll Love

You can always count on varying shades of blue

It's easy to fall in love with this unit found in the middle of busy streets and bustling highways. The ambiance is calm and relaxing, and given the abundance of natural light and wooden pieces, you'll feel like you're actually in a beachside cottage.

Whether you love the beach or simply want to give your home a delightful design upgrade, here are a few ideas to keep in mind:

1. Experiment with shades of blue.

Since it's quite common to see touches of blue to achieve the beachside feel, throw in a bit of interest by working with stripes and two different paint colors. In this unit, The Style Hobbyist Julienne Cruz worked with Davies Aqua Crystal (lighter) and Ocean Cruise (darker). You can also do the same to keep your unit from looking flat, plus, it also helps create an illusion of wider space.

2. Work with wood and woven.

Would you believe that most of the pieces in this unit were sourced from sash factories along the Tagaytay-Silang road? Julienne was also able to spot the mini dresser as part of Papemelroti's window display. When furnishing your space, opt for shelves, cabinets, and tables in light wood finish to add warmth to your home. Don't just stick to one store and dedicate a day to visit different shops to find what you're looking for.

3. Display photos and accessories reminiscent of your favorite trips.

Do you love collecting souvenirs? Put them to good use by using them as decor for your home. A collection of shells can be placed inside a mason jar and used as tabletop decor. If you've collected a lot and filled at least three to four jars, you can use these as bookends as well.

A simple way to spruce up a bedside table would be to create a collage of photos from your past beach trips. Seeing these everyday would only inspire you to plan the next one soon!

4. Don't be limited to wooden furniture and accessories.

To carve out a reading nook in your condo, feel free to choose a comfy chair where you can while away lazy afternoons with a good book. Aside from adding an accent chair, you can also define this corner of the home with beach-inspired details—go bold with letters spelling out "Beachy" from Papemelroti. You can also opt for prints, framed photographs, and wall decals featuring the sand and sea.

5. Pay attention to details.

Achieve a streamlined look by making sure even the tiniest details are covered. Even if guests won't see your bathroom, you can spruce it up with a beach-inspired shower curtain, small accessories that would remind you of your favorite destination, and another jar of souvenirs or shells.
