Driving to the beach or flying to another country means having to find a home away from home—even if it's just for a few days. While it's extra fancy to stay in hotels, nothing beats the comfort of a lived-in space. This is probably why Airbnbs have been taking the travel industry by storm in the last year or so. Whether you're looking for a place to book or you're thinking about building your own space for rent, here are some places you can use as inspiration:

Beyond the airy and welcoming feel of the space, you can tell that this renter-friendly unit is inspired by the stunning beaches of El Nido, Palawan. Located in Paranaque, it also pays homage to the craftsmanship of our local furniture makers as most of the wooden pieces were purchased from sash factories located along the Tagaytay-Silang road.

Visiting the City of Pines? Make sure to book a night or two at Balai Bed and Breakfast. The three-storey property features a laid-back vibe that's perfect if you're really looking forward to a sweet sojourn while enjoying the cool breeze. This B&B features two family rooms, a queen room, and a double room making it ideal even for big groups.

If you want to be closer to the busy side of Baguio, you can opt to stay at Bliss Homestay instead. Just a short stroll from St. Joseph’s and Wright Park, you can find this Airbnb at the basement of a beautiful Baguio house surrounded by tall pine trees with a brook nearby. Inside is a treasure trove of interesting works of art and antique collectibles of the Asian vibrant variety.

You don't always have to look far for a temporary home to rent—this pretty house is located in the heart of Makati. Since possible renters would love to come home to an inviting space that's perfect for a well-deserved break, the owner envisioned a special place where guests can put their feet up and relax. This home is complete with unexpected pops of color and Scandinavian details.

How can you turn a tight 26sqm space into homey escape? Although this unit is on the smaller side, white walls dominate the space so it looks a lot bigger—sprucing up the different corners of the place are wooden pieces and light colors. Staying indoors wouldn't be a bore with a retreat as relaxing as this.
