4 Ways to Liven Up Your Headboard

Learn a couple of decorating ideas that you can do for blank walls, too

There are different ways to liven up a plain bedroom. You can add a fany lamp, buy new sheets, add a few pillows, or if you want something drastic, opt for a paint job. If you want to achieve a new look with minimal budget required, you can work on your headboard or if you don't have one, the wall above your bed.

Here are four creative ideas that you can work on:

Display your own artwork

Are you fond of calligraphy and coloring? Select some of your best works and have these framed. You can hang your crafts as wall accent.

You can also display your favorite quote—that you personally wrote on a blank canvas as wall art.

Add a shelf

If you love collecting and reading books, you can display some of your favorites on a shelf above your bed. Make use of bookends and avoid overstuffing the shelf so that your books won't topple and fall.

Place a vibrant throw

Headboards usually come in plain solid colors. If you need to add color to your space, you may hang a vibrant blanket or an interesting throw to serve as an accent piece. Choose a color or print that matches your sheets and pillows.

Create a gallery wall

Seeing photos of loved ones and things that we love can easily brighten up the day. Create your own gallery wall by displaying your favorite photos and select prints. You may choose to work with similar frames or you can also choose frames in different colors and designs for a quirky and eclectic touch.
