It can be difficult to move around and entertain guests—especially if you have a limited floor area. How can you host get-togethers if your dining area is adjacent to your bedroom?

Fortunately, there are easy tricks that you can do! Keep these 4 must-dos in mind when working on your studio unit:

Segregate your space

Since you live in a studio unit, you don’t necessarily have to renovate the entire space so you can build walls and separate one area from another. Build a room within a room by working with dividers like curtains and panels! You can work with these must-haves to separate the kitchen from the living area and the latter from the bedroom.

Limit your furniture pieces per area

This is the reality if you don’t have enough space for a lot of pieces. You can always add multipurpose furniture such as daybeds that can accommodate guests and which can also transform into your bed and ottomans that can be used when storing essentials, too.

Opt for built-in storage units or integrate storage into furniture

To maximize every inch of space, use built-in cabinets and shelves as these do not take up floor space. You can also elevate your sleeping area then add drawers underneath where you can keep extra sheets, shoes, books, and accessories.

Use a monochromatic scheme

A monochromatic scheme is ideal for small spaces as well as using white as the dominant color accented with solid hues.
