Who doesn’t want to come home to a relaxing space after a long day of work? Kicking off your heels and getting snug on the sofa are probably among the best feelings in the world. Make this possible by making your space serene and homey. Here are some tips:

1. Anchor a sizeable space with an area rug.

A big expanse of white can make a space look cold. Make it more welcoming by placing an area rug like what interior designer Wilan Dayrit did in this living area. The animal hide rug adds texture while making the sofa and accent chairs closer for a more intimate feel.

2. Furnish your space with wooden pieces.

The bespoke daybed makes for a cozy space for lounging around or taking an afternoon nap. With wooden side tables that were combined to make a coffee table, the space feels warm and comforting. A yellow wallpaper from Designers Guild makes the rustic feel of the space even more homey.

Visit Designers Guild at 4726 Eduque St., Makati City.

3. Add outdoorsy elements.

Wilan spruced up this compact powder room with a simple twig arrangement that also adds warmth to the space. Faux marble tiles and Kohler bathroom fixtures make the space look sleek and sophisticated.

4. Anchor your bed with an upholstered headboard.

It can make your bedroom look like a hotel, helping you get that long, relaxing sleep. Pair it with crisp white beddings to keep the look clean and fuss-free.
