4 Things You Can Do in a Small Dining Area that You Never Thought Of

Use classic and unexpected pieces for a cozy nook

Whether you like entertaining guests or plainly love food, chances are you spend a lot of time in the dining room. However, not all spaces can accommodate a big and formal dining area. This is especially true in studio units and starter homes.

Luckily, tiny homes are now becoming popular, so we can have plenty of design ideas to consider. Here are four noteworthy ideas you should definitely keep in mind:

Enjoy a banquette

Maximize a corner in your home by opting to go for banquette style seating. An L-shaped bench can offer more seating space than the usual dining chairs. The best part about this style, aside from giving you additional seating; is you can also add pillows to make the area more comfortable.

Go all white

Using the color white will definitely help make a small space look bigger. If you have white walls, don’t be afraid to use white dining furniture. Choose a dining set that has a wooden table of a different color and white chairs with wooden legs for a more cohesive yet stylish look.

Use ghost chairs

We're sure you're familiar with these sophisticated items that are often used in huge dining rooms and even wedding receptions! Ghost furniture is great for small spaces as well. Made from transparent polycarbonate, the see-through effect tricks the eye as if the chairs are “not there” at all. Choose ghost chairs in the Louis XV style and pair it with a small vintage wooden table for an odd mix of eclectic and vintage style that works.

Maximize a window

Position your dining set near your windows. This makes your dining area look bigger with the natural light streaming in especially during the day. If you don’t have an available area by the window, you can place a large mirror on one wall instead.
