4 Things to Love about the #LIndochineLovesOD Collection

Find out what makes this collaboration special and unique

L’Indochine has become a store known for its eclectic modern Asian finds and interiors. Sisters Char Carlos and Leona Panutat, also known as the Inspiration Seekers, are always on the lookout for artisan pieces in cultural villages and craft markets all over Asia. Aside from showcasing fashion items, furniture, and home accents from Thailand, Indonesia, and India, to name a few, the store would also like to discover up and coming local artisans, designers, and artists.

They recently launched the #LIndochineLovesOD collection in partnership with Camille Francisco-Cabral, the Origami Dreamer. Camille is a designer and artist with a decade of experience in advertising, graphic design, and illustration. To create the collection, Camille had to look back at the things that inspired her—especially her travels. After living in Indonesia for a year, the artist remembered how colors play an important role in their architecture, textiles, and lifestyle.

Here are the 4 things that we love about this charming collection:

They make great Christmas presents

The expertly illustrated totes and pouches can be given to friends, officemates, and loved ones! They are handy and stylish—making it ideal for daily use or special events.

The Lotus Sky pieces

One can’t simply ignore the colors used for the Lotus Sky items. It showcases a moment of stark contrast and calm solitude for the artist who spent some weekends by the pool of her temporary home near the Jakarta CBD.

The Pelangi Line

Pelangi means rainbow in Bahasa Indonesia and according to Camille, there is a prominent fashion designer specializing in Muslimah fashion named Dian Pelangi. The designs of Dian are colorful and Camille took inspiration from this. Working with colors proved to be a challenge for the artist who usually works with black and white.

The travel-inspired colors

“I chose red and white for the illustration as a tribute to the flag colors of Indonesia, a place I called my home away from home for a year,” shares Camille.

The #LindochineLovesOD collection is available exclusively at L’Indochine SM Mega Fashion Hall (4th level) and SM Aura Premier (3rd level).
