Filipinos are known to be hospitable and welcoming to guests, relatives, and friends. Whether it's a kapit-bahay asking for help or relatives staying over, we open our doors and welcome them with open arms. Create a cozy ambiance by having an inviting and pretty entryway. You don't need to spend thousands to spruce up this part of the house! A few styling tricks and tons of organizing ideas can do the trick.

To inspire you to start decorating today, check out four of our favorite entryways found in real homes:

Create a vertical garden

When taking care of plants in a small space, we usually place the plants and mini garden out in the balcony. Aside from this spot, you can also turn the entryway into a mini Zen area where you can showcase your herbs, cacti, and succulents. Make use of the vertical space by installing wall-mounted shelves. If taking care of plants is too much for you, you can replicate what the owner did in this foyer by working with faux leaves and wooden pieces.

Opt for a clean and streamlined look

Sometimes, less is more. Keep the entryway clean and organized by limiting the number of pieces that you have. A console table to hold catchalls and decor, a mirror, and a potted plant are just some of the pieces that you may want to consider.

RL Tip: Create a statement by going for a modern and quirky mirror that can also serve as wall accent.

Add a statement piece

A work of art can be best admired in the entryway. Take inspiration from this home, wherein a bold artwork serves as a focal point in the area. Aside from paintings, you can also worked with framed photos and memorabilia.

Don't forget function

Aside from picking furniture and accessories, don't forget to keep the space functional. Invest in storage by opting for a bench with drawers underneath. An open shelf can also accommodate other belongings and a few decor pieces. Worried about a plain wall? Keep it stylish and functional by opting for quirky and cute decorative wall hooks.
