4 Ways to Decorate with Stars this Christmas

Aside from the classic Christmas tree, lights, balls, and wreaths, the Star of Bethlehem or the Christmas Star is one of the famous symbols of the holiday season. Christmas setups and decor won't be complete without it—whether it's on top of the tree or as part of the centerpiece.

If you're looking for other ways on how you can incorporate a couple of twinkling touches into your decor this year, here are four ideas that you can try:

Create buntings

Aside from Christmas garlands and colorful banners, you can craft your own bunting that showcases glittery gold and silver stars. Simply trace star shapes onto metallic paper and cut each carefully. Use strings, ribbons, or a nylon cord to connect and hang your finished project at home. Consider placing it by the entryway, living area, or dining room.

Craft wall accents

Apart from metallic paper, you can also work with illustration boards and cardboards. Create bigger cutouts and paint or color each with your chosen hue. Once done, you can install it on a plain wall. What's great about this decor piece is you may choose to keep it as permanent decor—consider neutral-colors—or you can repurpose it for the next party at home.

Create trimmings

Work on DIY wooden pieces

Fallen branches and twigs can also be used to create a rustic decor that you can use to liven up your door. Clean the pieces you have gathered, cut it into your desired size, and create a star shape. Secure each connection with twine or cord. Once you're done, you may also spruce it up with faux flowers, leaves, and other decor to create a wreath.
