While a small bathroom is easier to clean and maintain, having enough space for your supplies and essentials is also a must. You need ample space to move around, too! If you only have a limited floor area to work with, you can always maximize every inch of space with a couple of adjustments and design tricks.

Here are five easy ways to help you make the most of a compact bathroom.

Draw attention to the walls

Distract your eyes from the small floor area by adorning your walls with attention- grabbing details! If you live in a rented space, consider adding fabric or wall decals to enhance plain white walls. If you want to take things a notch higer, you can never go wrong with an interesting wallpaper.

Segregate with style

Is your compact bathroom just one open space? Separate the areas using a patterned glass divider or a colorful shower curtain. These materials add life to your space while giving you privacy. Keep your counter clutter-free by organizing your toiletries and essentials in mason jars.

Use the areas under the sink

Maximize the space under your sink by using it for storage. Organize extra supplies and essentials in baskets, trays, or buckets then place these items under the sink. If there's no space under your sink, you can simply add a freestanding shelf in one corner where you can keep towels and toiletries.

Distinguish areas by using different materials

Mix-and-match different materials to complete the look of your bathroom. If your shower area has wood-patterned ceramic tiles, consider having a glass partition and accent tiles to create a continuity between the shower area, toilet, and sink.
