December is a busy month for all of us. Aside from preparing the home for all the festivities, buying gifts, and attending parties here and there—we're sure you're hosting your own, too!

Here's a tip, you don't have to host a grand party! Just make sure that your guests are in for a good time and that they are comfortable. Consider these chic ideas for a party that they won't forget:

Surprise your guests with a unique color palette

It's very common to see red-green-and-white hues during the holidays. This year, why not go for something neutral and simple? Consider shades like royal blue, white, and a few hints of gold.

Use gold accents

Gold can add a shiny and sophisticated vibe to your space. Extra Christmas trimmings can work as part of your centerpiece as well.

Use real flowers

White stargazers and carnation are affordable blooms that add an elegant vibe to a space. Use these flowers as part of your centerpiece in the dining area. A few pieces of gladiola (shown in photo above) can be added in a vase too.

RL Tip: When looking for flowers for your party, you may want to avoid adding the usual Malaysian mums as they’re too summery for the holiday season.

Use ceramic décor

Since you’re going for an elegant and chic vibe, avoid using plastic utensils. Bring out your well-loved ceramic pieces in white or blue to maintain the theme. You may also use glass bowls and jars when serving food.
