When was the last time you surprised your significant other with a breakfast in bed? Whether you're doing this for your partner, mom, or dad—you can do it with a few stylish touches and some easy tricks. Turn an ordinary day into an extra special moment with these tips:

Set the mood

Comfort is of utmost importance in any bedroom. Set the stage for your surprise by making sure that the bed is extra comfy. Layer a couple of soft and cozy blankets and don't forget to fluff the pillows. Achieve visual impact by using blankets, sheets, and pillow covers with different patterns and textures.

Serve in style

Present the food that you've prepared on a nice tray. Consider using a wooden tray for a warm touch. Since wooden trays come in different sizes and finishes, choose one that fits the serving. If you're aiming for a rustic look, find a piece with a distressed or whitewashed finish. You can also upcycle and use a small wooden crate.

RL Tip: If you're on a budget, you can simply update the look of an old tray using washi tape. Click here for the complete guide.

Don't forget to add personalized touches

Preparing a special juice? Serve it using a clear bottle that has a lid to prevent any spillage. The drink will also serve as the citrus pop that can liven up the breakfast arrangement. You can also add a vase filled with fresh flowers or a special bouquet to enhance the look of your tray.
