A home seem incomplete without a Christmas tree during the holidays. Keep in mind that you don't have to spend much when purchasing a tree! You can always opt for mini versions, creative alternatives, and other DIY decor that can liven up the house.

If you have been looking forward to buying a new tree this year, here are tips that may just guide you in finding the one:

Consider the measurement of your room

Don't go to the store without measuring the space where you intend to place the tree. Give extra importance to the height of the room—measure it from floor to ceiling so that you won't end up buying a piece that's too big or too small. Allot enough space around the corner, assuming that you will place mats, gifts, and other accessories under the tree.

Pick the best material

Some families have used the same Christmas tree for more than five years! Make sure that you get a piece that can last for a long time. Since most available trees nowadays are made from plastic, make sure you get the quality pieces from trusted brands. Avoid buying trees with detachable leaves as these get thin and brittle over time.

Choose the style that goes well with your interiors

Trees come in different colors and styles so make sure you get the one that won't disrupt the vibe of your space. As a safe option, you can purchase a medium-sized classic tree and just personalize it with your choice of ornaments and trimmings. You can easily change the theme of your decor every year, too.

Think about storage

Since you will be storing the tree for a good nine or 10 months, it's important that you have enough space to accommodate it. Proper storage is important so you can preserve its quality and material. Store it in a clean and dry place to avoid dust and mold accumulation.
