4 Factors that Complete an Efficient Kitchen

Just like any other dish, there are certain "ingredients" needed to complete a functional kitchen. It's not enough that your space is pretty! You also need to make sure that you can work smoothly and efficiently in the space.
Start by planning a layout that maximizes the available area and work from there. Be guided by the list below:
The right layout
To be able to cook efficiently, it’s important that you work with a layout that suits your space and your lifestyle. If you live in a small space, opt for a one-walled kitchen so that you can maximize your home’s floor space. However, if you love having friends over, go with an L-shaped layout as it lets you move freely, while allowing your friends to stay around and watch as you prepare the food.
An area for cooking
The cooking area is the heart of the kitchen. It's important that you prioritize your cooktop or oven. Make sure you have at least four to nine feet of space between the refrigerator and the cooking area so you can work smoothly.

Where can you store pots and pans? Where will the utensils go? No matter how lovely your space is, if you have clutter on the counter, then you won't be able to fully appreciate your kitchen. These eyesores will make it harder for you to work efficiently as well. Organize your kitchen cabinets and drawers so you can store your items properly. You may also make use of vertical space by installing pegboards and wall-mounted shelves.

A prep area
In any kitchen, you must have enough space to move around to prepare your ingredients. It’s advisable to allot at least four to six feet of space between the sink and cooking/prep area so you can have enough elbow room to be able to work efficiently.
