3 Unusual And Stunning Furniture Finishes

Make a statement with these distinct patterns

When it comes to decor, unexpected details in furniture always make it extra special. Whether it's intricate carving or a unique color, having a little something different in a piece always catches our attention—especially if it's a one-of-a-kind finish.

From the glazing to the texture, the final touches give the piece identity and open up a world of possibilities for stylish home decor. To get you started, we've listed down three finishes that you should revisit if you need a design upgrade:

Embossed Paint

Who doesn't love a beautiful 3D visual? This style isn't only easy on the eyes, it also ignites the sense of touch with textured details. While rosemaling and floral patterns are predominant with embossed paint, as long as you you can find the proper stencil, you're free to draw whatever you like onto a piece.

Being associated with country decor, crackle finishes always seem to attract those who are into Shabby Chic and rustic looks. This style is great for refurbishing antiques or flea market finds to give it a fresh update.

RL Tip: Shades of blue and white work best with this finish.

Out of the three finishes, malachite is the only one you can't achieve with paint. It is actually a mineral that crystallizes to get a green color. Since it has a rich and solid feel to it, malachite pieces are best used in living areas that are trying to go for a more sophisticated look or can be used as an accent to a minimalist space.
