Achieve a Sparkly Christmas Table in 3 Easy Steps
With a few glittery touches, you can bring magic into the dining area
It has been part of our traditions to style the dining table just in time for our Christmas get-togethers. Aside from adding sweet elements or nature-inspired details, you can do something different this year by creating a luxurious look with sparkling details.
Take inspiration from this tablescape designed by interior designer Tessa Alindogan. Together with interior stylist Anton Barretto, Tessa shared a couple of handy hints on how you can dress up the table for the holiday festivities during a get-together at Crate and Barrel, SM Makati. Achieve a luxurious table setting with the help of these must-dos:
Add glittery touches
Start with a shimmery cloth like a beaded sari or fancy jeweled scarf. Use it as a runner and drape it over the center. You can layer this over a crisp white tablecloth or one in a complementary color to liven up the setting.
RL Tip: Think of your napkin rings as jewelry. Choose bracelet-like napkin rings, especially striking in newer, sleek styles like golden entwined bands.
Choose metallic elements
Bejeweled elemens like trees, reindeers, or nutcrakers can add seasonal luxury to the table. Mix it with gold, copper, and silver. You can also work with a monochromatic theme. Pair silver with frosty platters or bowls, and embellished plates and glasses.
Pick the right set of accessories and ornaments
Fill a large footed bowl or a couple of glass containers with glittery ornaments. A platinum or gold patterned barware can be used as small vases for flowers. Place these around a shallow mirrored tray filled with hurricanes of different sizes and heights. Complete the look with five or more candles.
