3 Easy Ways to Improve a Small Space
Make it cozy without spending much
Those who live in condo units have an option of combining one or two units to be able to achieve a cozier and spacious home. However, working with combined units can be tricky, especially when you don’t know where to start. The key is in making smart use of the space and going for the right elements. If you’re planning to merge two units, interior designer Wilmer Lopez shares these tips:
Create a flexible space
Avoid using too many built-ins or bulky furniture pieces which are difficult to move around. Instead of buying big furniture pieces, consider buying dual purpose pieces like a sofa bed or a storage ottoman. You can also use foldable chairs in the dining area and a small table as prep area in the kitchen. You should always be mindful of how the space will be used in the future.
Maximize the natural source of light
Proper lighting is essential in every room. To save on electricity, maximize natural light. Avoid using tall elements which can block a view or a source of daylight.
Go natural for a timeless appeal
The right design elements can greatly improve your space. Neutral colors can make your home feel airy and spacious. You can also experiment with concrete, raw metal, bricks and wood to complete the look.
