3 Subtle Decor Changes To Keep The Bedroom Cozy

Sleeping in can be more relaxing with these tips and tricks

When it comes to decor, the bedroom is usually the last item in our list of priorities. Most homeowners feel that since nobody really sees it, how it looks doesn't matter much.

However, if you really think about it, we spend a good chunk of our time relaxing so we deserve a space that lets us unwind and sleep as sweet as possible. The good news is, the smallest changes bring a major impact into this space for repose.

You can change the look of your boudoir simply by adding these three things that evoke the feeling of comfort.

Pile on the pillows

Make the bed extra snug by switching out your lumpy pillows for fluffy ones and feel free to add as much as you want. To keep the bed from looking plain, use pillowcases in a variety of colors and textures. Since warm and neutral shades tend to look more inviting, consider experimenting with deep blues, purples, beiges, light gray, and even rust.

Add some throws

If you a have an extra futon or couch in your room, turn them into an irressistible invitation to take a break with thick throws or blankets. You can also add a few woven bins filled with your favorite books, magazines or even gaming consoles to make it your special hangout spot.

Hanging lights

Gone are the days of dated lamps that take up space on your bedside table. Give bedroom lighting an update with hanging lights with dimmer switches. These don't only add a romantic ambience to your space, but can also add visual character to textured walls or upholstered headboards.

RL Tip: Before you get ceiling lights installed, test out your arm length to get the exact height you need to turn them on or off from where you sleep.
