When you visit Pinterest, which home style do you usually search for? We're sure that each time you look at those pretty pegs and photos, you wish you can have the same look for your own home in the future. There's no need to worry as you can achieve the look that you have always wanted with proper planning and professional help.

Interior designers Peaches de Guzman-Grey and Jean Suzanne Sy share these helpful tips on how you can achieve the style and vibe that you want:

Find a look that matches your character

With the help of the Internet, you can easily find thousands of pegs that you can use as inspiration for your home. However, make sure that you choose one that reflects your personality. “Design style is a reflection of the homeowner. Be sure that it highlights your personality,” Peaches shares.

Before you decide on a certain style, do your research and assess if the look that you prefer is a perfect fit. Don’t go for a certain style just because it’s popular or it looks nice. Your home should be a reflection of you. “When someone sees your space, they should immediately know that you own the place," says Jean.

Consider the type of your home

To achieve your dream design for your space, you must also examine if the style that you want can work well with the type of home that you have. If you live in a home that has large picture windows, you may want to cosnider a tropical-inspired space since the window openings are trademarks of a tropical home. If you have a low ceiling, why not go for an industrial style?

Evaluate your budget

“Budget is always a big factor when building and designing your home. Make sure you strictly work on a certain price and don’t sacrifice function over aesthetics,” Peaches says. You need to keep track of your expenses and set a budget ceiling. Allocate your money accordingly and invest in quality pieces.
