Secondhand and vintage finds make for a nice addition to any home. It gives a space a nostalgic appeal that adds to the warmth and overall vibe of the place. Whether you're a seasoned antiques hunter or new to the segunda-mano scene, we've got just the perfect haunts for you!

Aside from buying pieces for your space, you may want to check out a couple of finds that you can give away as presents this Christmas, too!

Make It Up

If you've always loved upcycled pieces or items made from unusual items, you may want to put Make It Up on top of your list. The place is the perfect go-to place if you're looking for industrial-themed and indie-flavored pieces. Expect to see items like old rice sacks turned into laptop cases and crutches transformed into unique shelving units.

Make It Up is located at the 4th level of The Podium, ADB Avenue, Ortigas Center.

Jo-Liza Arts and Antiques

If you are visiting the store for the first time, it can be quite disorienting—in a good way, of course! Since the place is filled to the brim with select pieces, it can be difficult to figure out where to start. It is divided into two parts—the main house where the antiques are displayed and the house at the back that serves as a gallery. Go here for antique Filipino furniture and richly ornamented Asian pieces. Jo-Liza also has antique furniture sourced from all over Asia, each piece highlighting the craftsmanship of the different regions.

Jo-Liza Arts and Antiques is located at 664 J. Abad Santos St., San Juan City.

Bangkal

The bangkal area is one of the main drop-off points for secondhand finds! Stores are segregated by type like breakables, books, Pinoy pieces, and office furniture. You can dedicate a half day or perhaps a full day to scour the area for big furniture pieces, chandeliers, kitschy Victorian pieces, an eclectic mix of lamp pedestals, and lampshades.

Get ready to explore Evangelista and Hizon Streets, Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.
