Many of us prefer staying indoors than go out—especially if you've had a long week. You can enhance the beauty of your home and make it even more relaxing by working with the right color scheme! RL Reader Med plans to make her tiny space feel more peaceful and spacious, but she's unsure about the colors to use.

If you're like Med who's on the lookout for the right colors, consider these tips from interior designer Jean Karla Samson. Jean suggests working with neutrals and here are three reasons why you should consider these versatile bunch too:

You can use it in any interior style

Whatever style that you pick, you can use neutrals for your walls. Since it can fit in any space, you can easily update the look of your home from country chic to sleek minimalist without worrying about repainting costs.

Neutrals can make a space more relaxing

Using neutral shades can make a space more inviting. Pick muted tones of green or brown and pair it with a dark gray wall to create a light and dark contrast.

The right shades can help you define spaces

An accent wall can help separate the different areas at home especially if it has an open floor plan or a longitudinal wall. Adding an accent color, patterned wallpaper, or any decorative wall treatment can help split your area without having to construct walls! Just make sure you pick shades from the same color scheme to maintain the cohesiveness of the whole space.
