3 Reasons Why You Should Attend Association Meetings
Stay informed and keep up with current events
Given your busy schedule, it can be hard to make time for home errands. Those living in condo units and apartments often depend on newsletters and bulletin boards to keep up with announcements and other happenings within the neighborhood. However, it's better if you can make it to association meetings so you can ask questions as well as meet your neighbors.
Interior designer and licensed broker Rochelle Granali shares a couple of important reasons why attendance at these meetings is a must:
You become informed
“Residents should attend meetings regularly to be informed about the events happening in the building or subdivision,” says Rochelle. By staying informed, you get to prepare for occurrences. For example, if it was announced that there will be water interruptions or maintenance activities, and you weren't there, there will be a possibility that you won't be able to prepare beforehand.
Voice out concerns
Do you have suggestions on how improve the amenities and the security within the building? Do you need to clarify some fees? If yes, then you need to make an effort to attend such meetings. "You can raise your concerns and see how the majority will settle the issues," explains Rochelle.
Meet new neighbors
Since you’re part of the community, it’s essential that you maintain a peaceful and harmonious relationship with the people around you. Make an effort to meet new people and build strong friendships. Chances are, some of your colleagues are your neighbors, too!
