3 Quick Fixes for a Messy Home
Save time and energy with the help of these must-dos
When you’re too engrossed watching your favorite movie or when you’re in too deep in that new crafty hobby you got into, there’s just no time to put away all the clutter! Sometimes, it’s nice to have a slightly disorganized home that spells “lived in” and “comfy” versus a spotless abode that screams “Do not sit here!”
Here are a few tricks that you can do to easily style your organized chaos:
Group familiar items together
If you only have a few minutes to tidy up, quickly organize your clutter by grouping together similar objects in one corner. For instance, books are stored together (no need to arrange them alphabetically), glass objects share a space on top of the shadow boxes, while coffee cups are in the cubby hole.
Keep the mess under control by adopting the clean-as-you-go habit. Place a bin or two in areas of your home that are quite busy, so you just throw in whatever clutter there is.
Fix things before you leave
Before leaving for work, make sure that you don’t have dirty dishes on your sink! Make it a habit to fix your items and return the things you used inside cabinets or on shelves. Returning things where you got them is an easy way to control clutter at home.
