3 Overlooked Areas You're Forgetting To Decorate
Maximize your home's full potential, once and for all!
When you look up decor ideas online, do you ever include the odd, bare corners of the home? Probably not.
Most design references break up space in five parts—living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, and bath—as these are the five focal points of the home. We tend to work hard in dressing up these areas without realizing that we are forgetting certain spots that can really bring forward the overall look of our personal haven.
The stairway landing
When you think about it, we pass through this part of the home every day but we never pay any attention to it. If you don't have a proper entryway, you can turn this space into a way station by adding comfortable seating and catchalls for things you need on your way out. You can also hang up art to keep the space from looking dull.

Behind the sofa
Breaking away from the popular opinion that decor behind the couch creates unnecessary clutter, it can actually be a useful space. Experiment with placing a console where you can create a vignette of lamps, books, and even flowers. These little details add a new layer to your home that can help your living area look more put together.
RL Tip: You can go the maximalist route by putting up a bunch of wall decor, too. Make sure to stay within the same color family to keep it streamlined.

The end of a hallway
Inevitably, this spot will fall flat if there is nothing to see at the end of it. For small spaces, a beautiful print out or a couple of framed family portraits will do the trick. If you have more room to play with, feel free to add an accent chair, a tall lamp, and a stack of magazines to create a makeshift reading nook.
