3 Easy Ways To Inject Patterns into the Home
No wallpaper involved!
Never underestimate the power of patterns—not only do they add pizzazz to a space, they also make for great focal points. Adding wallpaper is an easy way to do that—they’re already patterned in the first place, so all you have to do is get the right materials for installing it. But if you find some wallpapers a bit too pricey, here are other ways on how you can inject patterns into your space:
1. Through DIY stickers
Blogger mom Helene Santos of Mrs. MommyHolic painted this seafoam green wall herself. She then cut triangle wall stickers and placed them on the wall to give the illusion of having a playful wallpaper.
2. Through a patterned area rug
This living room is full of interesting visual elements, but the geometric area rug takes the cake! It makes the space look young and lively. The patterned throw pillows do the job just as well.
3. Through an accent wall.
No need to hang various framed art or photos on your wall if you have a bold accent wall like this striped one in Helene’s dining area. To do this, have two shades of paint and masking tape ready. Paint your walls with the lighter shade first, then let dry overnight. Make stripes of equal width using the masking tape, and paint over the wall and taped areas.
