Working on DIY projects doesn't just help relieve stress and take your mind off things, it can result to lovely creations that you can add to your space as decor, too! For starters, you can work on framed lettering, photos and prints! You can also repaint old tables and chairs as you can add these pieces in the balcony, living area, and bedroom.

If you're looking for ideas that you can work on, here are three DIY pieces that caught our attention during the Real Living Space at Avida Towers Centera:

Herb Organizer and Coat Hanger in One

In the one-bedroom unit designed by interior designer Kristine Neri-Magturo, guests are welcomed into the space by upcycled vintage doors used as herb organizer and coat hanger.

If you want to create a similar piece, you can work with old doors, an old ladder, or a wooden pallet. Install metal hooks and rods so you can carefully display your potted plants.

This door planter is available at Urban Abode. Their store is located at CW Home Depot - Ortigas, #1 Dona Julia Vargas Ave., near cor. Meralco Ave., Brgy. Ugong, Unit 08-B, 1604 Pasig City.

Fabric Wall

Upon entering the unit designed by architect Allen Oblena and interior designer Vera Villarosa, visitors would instantly feel that they can live in the space. It's practical, laidback, and filled with pieces that make the limited space seem comfortable and homey.

One would immediately notice the fabric wall in the living area featuring fabric with a chic floral pattern from Townes, Inc. To complete the look, the designers added wooden clipboards to create a rustic touch.

If you would also like to spruce up an empty wall, you can create your own fabric wall art using floral fabric and canvas boards. Click here for the complete guide.

Customized bed frame

Would you believe that this bed frame was made using materials from a junk shop? Pai Edles and Misty Floro of Morfosis Design put together the materials to make the base of the bed and chose neon pink for the frames to make it unique and rebellious.

Visiting thrift shops and secondhand stores can give you tons of ideas when it comes to improving your space. Research on cheaper alternatives and be ready to work with what you already have. Aside from customizing your bed frames, you may also create your own headboard to liven up a plain bedroom!
