3 Design Ideas For Styling A Faux-Entryway

Create a lasting impression from the moment visitors step into your home

A beautiful home begins with a welcoming entryway. When done right, it can exude warmth and comfort that somehow tell guests that a visit to your personal haven means a few hours of relaxation and repose.

However, not all spaces—whether it's a house, a condo or a studio type apartment—offer enough room for a proper foyer. Here are three ways that can help you carve out an entryway in your home:

Establish it with a vignette

If the structure of your home doesn't allow an entry, create the illusion of one by adding a statement piece to anchor the space. Give it personality with a vignette of accessories like catchalls for keys, bright-colored lamps, or even mirrors. You can also include an arrangement of fresh blooms to give it a more inviting vibe.

Make use of vertical storage

For a faux-entry that can double as a way station, consider hanging an array of hooks on the wall next to your door to serve as a spot to put up jackets, purses, and other things you might need when leaving the house. You can also add bins to keep dirty shoes from creating a mess inside the house.

Use a divider to seperate spaces

If the layout of your home goes straight into the living area when you open the front door, an easy and affordable way is to use a divider to subtly divide the space between a foyer and another room.
Place it at least a feet or two away from the main entrance to have enough space for a small display.
