3 Creative Ways To Use Tension Rods

It can do more than hold shower curtains up

There are only a handful of things that are as amazing and versatile as a humble tension rod. They are inexpensive, adjustable, easy to install, and don't leave permanent marks.

No wonder homeowners are always discovering creative ways to use them around the home. If you haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, we've got you covered. Check out these ideas for optimizing your space with tension rods:

If you're a budding crafter or just passionate about wrapping presents, sort your materials with a few rods. Attach one a little high for taller printed papers, another one below for keeping cards and one in the middle for ribbon rolls.

If you want to add French flair into your space, consider switching up the curtains to a window awning—it's a subtle nod to the feel of a Parisian café.  Simply position two rods and hang a printed dropcloth over it to achieve the look.

Bring nature indoors by building a hanging garden in your living area. Aside from rods, all you need are vintage-looking buckets and hanging brackets. You can showcase herbs and succulents, depending on what you like.

RL Tip: Place your installation near a window so your plants can get enough sunlight, too!
