Board games are must-haves for bonding nights—and like the popcorn, pizza, and DVDs that remind us of these comfortable family gatherings, these good ol’ things hold a special place in our hearts that an iPad or laptop can never replace. So how do you keep your board game collection in mint condition without losing puzzle pieces and other odds and ends? Roll the dice and read on.
Think about it: colorful board games add pops of color to a den or playroom. You can choose new favorites to hang up temporarily, or retire some of your older games to a permanent spot on the wall. The latter will require some DIY work, but this method is great for games missing too many pieces.
Getting rid of those boxes can be difficult, but having uniform drawers and storage will reduce the eyesore and make it easier to start setting up your games. Card games, on the other hand, can be placed in plastic bins for convenience.
