3 Best Things About Renting a Space

It's a practical option if you're still saving up for your dream home

There are many reasons why some of us prefer to rent a space nowadays. Some simply want to live near the office and avoid traffic, others are saving up for an even bigger dream home, and there are those who simply want to have a temporary haven where they can escape to after a long day.

If you're not yet sure if you can stay in a rented space, here are three reasons that may just convince you:

You have no liability (except for what’s stated in your contract)

For utility and electrical concerns like fixing a leaky water valve or a damaged circuit breaker, it's usually the landlord's job to shoulder the costs. However, when it comes to decor upgrades, the landlord is not obliged to reimburse costs that were incurred to prettify the home.

You can spruce up the space within your budget

Since you are renting the space, you don't have to spend a lot of money on a full makeover or renovation project. Work on easy and simple updates that can create an impact! Consider adding wall decals to liven up your bedroom or living area. Got a plain kitchen? Add character to the space by changing the drawer pulls or decorating the kitchen cabinets with washi tape.

It's easier to move out when the need arises

If you suddenly need to move to another location or if you found a better unit, it's easier to pack your things and leave. Just make sure that you inform the landlord or building administration beforehand. This is an easier process compared to putting a house on sale and waiting for potential buyers.
