3 Bedrooms That Will Make You Paint Your Walls Blue

You can never go wrong with shades of azure

After our staple neutrals, there is probably no other color that's easier to work with than blue. It is such a versatile hue as it pairs well with warm and cool tones, and it can give off both a calming and invigorating vibe at the same time. To motivate you, we've put together three photo pegs that will push you to wash your home in this tranquil tint:

Breakfast Blue

Oddly, shades that fall into the cool category like turquoise, Tiffany blue and sky blue have a bit of yellow in them that acts as a great base and can also make a space look bigger. Cool blues are also said to encourage peace and concentration—making it a great choice for the bedroom where we sleep, and occasionally, work.

RL Tip: Accentuate the warmth of breakfast blue by accessorizing with mustard, beige, and deep teal.

Royal Blue

You can get away with a lot more decor risks when working with a rich shade like royal blue. Since it has the undertones of gray, you can match it with a lot more pigments like red, rust, and even brown.

The strong bachelor pad vibe of this room is softened by the cobalt dado effect on the walls and the playful pieces like the stools and woven baskets.

Navy Blue

It is said that a dark bedroom can help set the mood for sleep. If so, navy blue is the perfect choice—it is not as stark as black but it can still help you fall into a sweet slumber. When decorating with this color as the base, try going for a monochromatic palette with hints of sea-inspired tones to keep with the relaxing vibe.
